Tambellup CRC celebrates 15 years of community service
Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls said today it was pleasing that the State Government Royalties for Regions program was playing a major role in the ongoing work of the Tambellup Community Resource Centre (CRC), which turned
15 today.
"Formerly known as Telecentre, the Tambellup CRC has recently refurbished its Norrish Street premises with the help of Royalties for Regions funding," Mr Grylls said.
"Royalties for Regions is proudly supporting more than 100 community resource centres throughout the State, providing regional communities access to services that most metropolitan-based West Australians take for granted."
Wagin MLA Terry Waldron said a $92,000 Royalties for Regions allocation had helped with the centre's refurbishment and was covering day-to-day running costs.
"With further help from the Shire of Broomehill-Tambellup, the CRC has managed to continue providing this valuable service uninterrupted since 1995," Mr Waldron said.
"Its longevity is testament to the contribution it is making and the high regard placed on its work by the Tambellup community."
Mr Waldron said the Tambellup CRC first opened its doors in September 1995 at the Station Master's House and relocated to Norrish Street in the public library building in 1996.
