Tenement holder assistance for world-leading MRF online system
- State Government responds to industry calls
- Week-long roadshow
Goldfields and Mid-West tenement holders are being urged to take advantage of assistance being offered to lodge their 2014-15 Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) reports.
Mines and Petroleum Minister Bill Marmion said Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) officers would be in Kalgoorlie from Thursday to Saturday offering MRF assistance, and would also visit Coolgardie, Leonora, Sandstone and Mount Magnet over the coming week.
"The DMP is responding to requests from tenement holders, for help to complete the online process," Mr Marmion said.
"This is only the second compulsory reporting period for the MRF and we want to ensure tenement holders meet the June 30 deadline."
The DMP is also offering tenement holders MRF assistance in their East Perth office every working day up until the June 30 reporting deadline.
A forum for tenement managers and consultants was held in Perth on April 26, and another planned for May 27, to run through enhancements to the MRF online system.
"Similar information sessions and assistance were offered last year and tenement holders provided feedback that it was greatly appreciated and very beneficial," the Minister said.
"I congratulate the industry on embracing the MRF, which has already seen more than $33 million paid into the rehabilitation fund."
Further information about the MRF Roadshow and the upcoming tenement managers' forum in May is available on the events page of the DMP website or by emailing MRFenquiry@dmp.wa.gov.au
