Twice weekly Perth to Busselton flights available soon
Transport Minister Troy Buswell announced today that twice weekly flights would be available between Perth and Busselton.
Skywest would operate the Busselton service as a stopover point on its flights to Albany.
"This is a great outcome for businesses, tourism operators and the Busselton community, who have been actively seeking flights to the town for some time," Mr Buswell said.
"Busselton business and tourism operators will benefit, as it will now be much easier for Eastern States and international visitors flying into Perth to include the Busselton region on their itineraries.
"Busselton provides access to the South-West's towering forests, rugged coastline and world-famous wineries, and the provision of air services to the region will provide better access to these important destinations and give tourism a significant boost."
The arrangements with Skywest are subject to the finalisation of a formal agreement, which is expected to be complete soon.
This announcement is the culmination of a review of intrastate air services that involved comprehensive stakeholder consultation, airport-by-airport analysis and financial assessments.
