Local schools, community groups and residents will be invited to help revegetate a restored bridle path which was damaged during construction of Champion Lakes.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan said the Armadale Redevelopment Authority (ARA) funded project would replant a three-metre wide, three-kilometre stretch of the path between Ranford Road and Champion Lakes.
"The ARA has employed Greening Australia to co-ordinate the planting of 30,000 tube stock plants of varying species, which will replicate the original bush of the area," Ms MacTiernan said.
"Champion Lakes is a wonderful project and will become a world-class water and leisure facility, bringing many benefits to locals and the wider community.
"Main Roads has restored the bridle path and replanting will complete the rehabilitation of this valuable community asset."
The Minister said Greening Australia staff would visit schools in the area to discuss why the work was being done and its impact on the environment.
Greening Australia works in regional and urban communities across the country, managing vegetation and providing environmental education services.
Planting will begin on June 26, and a community planting morning will be held on Sunday, July 2 from 9am to noon.
People who would like more information about the revegetation project should phone Greening Australia on 9335 8933.
