The Government has banned the use, sale and supply of drug-use paraphernalia known as 'ice pipes' from today.
Consumer Protection Minister Michelle Roberts said ice pipes commonly consisted of a glass pipe for inhalation.
Ice, the street name for crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride, is a powerful synthetic stimulant drug that speeds up the activity of the central nervous system.
Ice pipes provide a convenient way to inhale the drug.
"The Government's Consumer Protection and Health agencies are working together to implement banning orders on ice pipes," Mrs Roberts said.
"Prohibition of the sale of these items over the counter will not stop hardened addicts from using ice, but it may help to deter some of our young people from trying this dangerous and addictive drug."
