Minister opens South West Seniors Expo
28/10/07
South-West Minister Mark McGowan officially opened the South West Seniors Expo in Bunbury today.
Mr McGowan said the two-day event was an opportunity for all seniors living in the South-West region to try new activities and explore the services available to them.
"More than 100 exhibitors will be featuring their goods and services including health, finance and leisure providers," he said.
"I would encourage seniors living in the region to participate and benefit from the South West Seniors Expo."
Organisers are expecting up to 20,000 people to visit the event, which is double last year's crowd of 10,000.
First-time sponsor Rick Hart is supporting the Have-A-Go exhibit, which will feature a range of activities such as archery, golf and ten-pin bowling.
Live entertainment and competitions will also be held, and Edith Cowan University will be conducting free medical risk checks.
The State Government, through the South West Development Commission, is one of the 23 sponsors of the expo, contributing $2,500.
