More residential lots released for sale at Hopetoun

A total of 18 lots in LandCorp's Mary Ann Waters residential development at Hopetoun will be released to the public by ballot next month.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan today announced the release and urged prospective buyers to register their interest for the ballot, to be held on February 28.
"Demand for quality residential land in the south coast region has continued to increase since construction commenced on BHP Billiton's Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations," Ms MacTiernan said.
"With an increasing number of BHP Billiton's employees choosing to relocate to Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe, rather than work on a fly-in fly-out basis, the release of Stage 3A at Mary Ann Waters will help meet demand from locals and those providing support services to the resources sector."
Prices for the fully serviced single residential lots in Stage 3A ranged from $160,000 to $170,000, with lots varying in size from 713sqm to 885sqm.
The Minister said this was the State Government's second release of quality residential land in Hopetoun in six months, following the sale of 25 lots at Mary Ann Waters Estate in September.
"The State Government, through LandCorp, continues to work closely with the Shire of Ravensthorpe and infrastructure providers to bring more land to the market by resolving issues such as waste water treatment and power supply," she said.
"The estate is ideal for growing families, located less than a kilometre from the town centre and medical facilities, with a new primary school opening this year, as well as a proposed child care centre."
Planning is well under way for further stages in the development, which is expected to ultimately yield more than 500 lots.
Ballots close on 5pm Wednesday, February 21.
Preferential treatment will be given to people who have not previously acquired a lot in Mary Ann Waters Estate.
