$400,000 boost to adopt reusables in the Swan Canning Riverpark

• Cook Government protecting and restoring the Swan Canning Riverpark
• Building safer, cleaner and more inclusive community spaces by reducing litter
• Backing local businesses and jobs to adopt practical, cost-effective reusable alternatives

A further $400,000 is now available to help events and businesses along the Swan Canning Riverpark replace single-use items with reusable alternatives.

Grants from $1,000 to $10,000 are available to businesses and supplying food or beverages or sporting organisations operating within 2km of the Riverpark, and riverfront local governments and event organisers operating community events within 1km of the Riverpark. 

To date, the program has supported 62 businesses and 27 events by providing more than $180,000 in grants to phase out single-use plastics, packaging and serve-ware, eliminating more than 3 million items.  

Successful applicants will lead the way in protecting our rivers by driving behaviour change, educating the community and actively reducing waste that could become litter.

Applications close Thursday, 30 April 2026. Early submissions are encouraged as funding will be allocated to successful projects on a first-come, first-served basis.
