Veteran organisations are invited to apply for the annual Anzac Day Trust Grant round, backed in 2026 by a $1.3 million funding pool from the Cook Labor Government to support initiatives that benefit veterans and families of veterans.

This grant program supports Western Australian organisations to deliver essential initiatives and services that respond to the veteran's community needs.

Applications can propose either a single year or multi-year funding allocation of up to three years, where a staged delivery model or longer-term impact supports that approach.

Ex-service organisations, veteran service providers, and not-for-profits in the WA veterans' community are eligible to apply where they have identified an opportunity to sole-source or co-fund the delivery of a project, activity, or initiative within one of the following priority areas:

  • employment, education, and financial navigation and transition;
  • family wellbeing, peer support, and social connection;
  • regional and isolated cohort access and outreach; and
  • commemoration and community connection to military heritage.

Grants can be used to fund a variety of costs associated with the delivery.

Since 2021, the State Labor Government has disbursed over $8 million as part of its commitment to ensuring that veterans and their families in WA are recognised, supported, and enabled to participate and contribute to their fullest potential.

Previous recipients include Veterans Assist Great Southern, a not‑for‑profit organisation providing vital support and resources to help veterans in the region thrive. The organisation received $67,000 in 2025 and $48,223 in 2024 through the Anzac Day Trust to deliver its Regional Veterans Support Coordinator program, which connects ex‑service personnel with specialist outreach and services close to home. Through this funding, Veterans Assist Great Southern collaborated with more than 43 regional bodies to strengthen support for veterans and their families. This connection is essential to ensuring veterans in regional areas are supported with the services they need.

The grant is provided by the Anzac Day Trust, a body corporate under the Anzac Day Act 1960 (WA) and is administered by Defence West.
