Western Australia's Italian community
has celebrated a significant cultural milestone with the official opening of
the new Dante Alighieri Society of Western Australia's Italian Library in Tuart
Hill.
This library has been established as a dedicated cultural
space promoting Italian language, literature and heritage, providing a valuable
resource for community members of all ages and backgrounds.
Hosted by the Dante Alighieri Society
of Western Australia and supported by Made of Italy, the opening event welcomed
community members, families, language learners and all those interested in
Italian culture to explore the collection and learn more about the services
available through the new facility.
The opening included an afternoon tea
and guided tours of the new library space. Guests had the opportunity to meet
members of the society, browse the collection and discover the role the library
will play in preserving and promoting Italian culture in Western Australia.
The new Italian library is a cultural
hub designed to connect community members through language, literature and
shared heritage, and will ensure future generations have opportunities to
engage with the rich traditions, stories and achievements of Italian culture.
Members of the public can apply for a
membership at the Dante Alighieri Society WA to use the resources and
facilities.
The Dante Alighieri Society of Western
Australia is a not-for-profit association focused on offering programs centred
around Italian culture and language to all Western Australians.
