The $63.6 million Laverton Hospital redevelopment has marked an important milestone, with the completion of slab pours for the new hospital build and structural steel installation underway.

Following the delivery of a forward works package earlier this year that included preparatory earthworks, a temporary site access road, sewer diversion, water main and trenching for electrical upgrades, the site - which is adjacent to the existing hospital - moved quickly onto the main works phase, setting out the future ambulance driveway, formwork and concreting.

Once complete, the new Laverton Hospital will provide modern emergency and contemporary multidisciplinary ambulatory care facilities and outpatient services, including community health, mental health, specialist facilities for visiting clinicians, and space for an onsite private GP clinic.

The redevelopment, which is being delivered by ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd, includes a contribution of $16.8 million from the Australian Government's Community Health and Hospitals Program.

Delivery of the Laverton Hospital redevelopment is part of the Cook Labor Government's $3.7 billion health infrastructure program, which is helping to ensure Western Australians, regardless of where they live, can access the health care they need.
