The $19.6 million Mullewa Community Hospital redevelopment has reached a major milestone, with slab pours complete, and structural steel installation soon to get underway.
Western Australian-owned and operated EMCO Building is delivering the
main works package of the new facility, which is adjacent to the existing
hospital.
The main works phase follows the demolition of the ageing nursing quarters and
a forward works program to prepare the site for footings and formwork.
The new hospital will
offer modern, purpose-built facilities to support a wide range of health
services including 24/7 emergency care, an ambulance bay, respite and
palliation, outpatient treatment, and community health programs.
Treatment spaces will also be equipped with the very latest in virtual
healthcare technology, providing greater patient access to specialist care
close to home.
