Perth locks in 2027 SVNS dates after weekend success
- Australian-exclusive HSBC SVNS wraps up successful weekend of festivities
- SVNS confirmed to return to Perth from 6–7 February 2027, with early bird tickets on sale now for limited amount of time
- Attracting major events are part of the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy to generate valuable tourism dollars for local business and support local jobs
Fan-favourite rugby event, HSBC SVNS, will return to Perth in 2027 with dates locked in for 6–7 February and early bird tickets on sale now, following a blockbuster weekend of high-energy rugby action.
Supported by the Cook Government through Tourism WA, the rugby festival brought the world's top rugby nations to Perth over the weekend for a third consecutive year to play an alternative, fast-paced union format tournament, with seven players competing in seven-minute halves.
Fans who enjoyed SVNS' spectacular lineup of live entertainment, family-friendly activities, world class sporting action, and local food and beverage options at the weekend can now mark their calendars for its return from 6–7 February 2027 and purchase tickets to lock in their attendance.
The confirmation of the event's return comes after SVNS Perth 2026 once again brought thousands of fans to HBF Park, generating millions of dollars for WA's economy, and boosting local businesses and jobs.
The weekend of festivities was complemented by spectacular music performances from acts including Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir and Furnace and the Fundamentals, bringing a party-like atmosphere to the tournament.
Following the events' success in 2024 and 2025, the Cook Government secured the global rugby spectacle in a three-year deal to 2028 as part of its vision to deliver an always on, year-round calendar of events to diversify the State's economy and further cement Western Australia as a premier host for major sporting events.
Australia's Golden Decade of Rugby is in full force, with other highlights including the British and Irish Lions Tour in June 2025 and the sold-out Australian-exclusive Bledisloe Cup in October 2025.
The Golden Decade will culminate with Perth hosting the Men's Rugby World Cup Australia in 2027, with the recently released match schedule confirming the opening match in WA will see the Wallabies take on Hong Kong China - the state's largest visitor market by spend.
Perth will host seven Men's Rugby World Cup matches in total, including the opening match, four pool matches that are set to feature South Africa and New Zealand as well as a Six Nations showdown between Ireland and Scotland, and two round of 16 clashes, a first in tournament history under a new 24-team format introduced by World Rugby.
Rugby SVNS is the latest in a blockbuster summer of events for WA, following the success of the United Cup, Hoopsfest, Perth Sail Grand Prix, the upcoming AFL Origin, and culminating with the AFC Women's Asian Cup in March.
With major events like Rugby SVNS, WA continues to strengthen its reputation as a premier destination for major events and world-class sporting fixtures, helping drive growth in the local tourism sector and support local businesses and jobs through the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy.
