Rottnest Island will commence seasonal late-night ferry services to and from the island starting 30 October, enabling visitors to experience the island's growing dining scene.

Getting to the island has been made easier, with late afternoon and evening departures to the island.

The late-night ferry services departing the island at 9pm will operate Thursday to Sunday from late October to January, and Friday to Sunday from February to April.

The later departure gives visitors more choice to either extend their day trip, visit the island for a sunset tour, or to enjoy a unique dining experience at one of the many island restaurants.

The 9pm service also supports the island businesses, allowing island workers to commute later, and businesses to extend their opening hours, supporting local employment and the island's economy.

The extended ferry schedule is aligned with the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy in diversifying the visitor base by attracting a broader range of travellers.
