Community organisations and local governments across Western Australia will share in $85,000 in State Government funding to run community events for older Western Australians across Seniors Week.
Seniors Week celebrates the role of older people in our communities, promotes positive ageing, and encourages participation in community life.
Held between 9 and 16 November 2025, the week will see dozens of events and activities across Western Australia.
A total of 53 community organisations and local governments in metropolitan, regional, and remote areas of the State have been provided with grant funding for Seniors Week activities, supporting the State Government's priority of building inclusive communities.
Events include a seniors dinner dance and buffet meal in the Shire of Murray, a heritage walk in Manjimup, a morning of culture and connection at the Canning River Eco Education Centre, an intergenerational football celebration at the Sam Kerr Football Centre, and the 'Footsteps Fair' held in Karratha, Roebourne, and Onslow.
The funding allocations of up to $3,000 per event will be used to cover expenses for Seniors Week activities, such as advertising and promotion, catering, venue and equipment hire, and transport.
The Seniors Week Community Grants Program is co-ordinated by Advocare in partnership with the Department of Communities and Lotterywest.
