More Western Australian homes will soon be powered by clean, affordable and reliable energy, with construction underway on a new mega wind farm project in the Wheatbelt.

Located near Badgingarra, Parron Maam Marang Farm will feature 78 wind turbines, generating 470 megawatts of renewable energy - enough to power around 350,000 homes.

The wind farm will be the State's biggest, with around 66 per cent more capacity than the next largest wind project.

Up to 400 jobs are expected to be created during peak construction, offering opportunities for local workers, contractors and businesses across the region.

Construction follows the execution of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement between Synergy and the project in March this year, which gave developers the certainty they needed to unlock private investment and go ahead with the project.

Synergy has also entered into agreements with three other wind farm projects, boosting the State's renewable fleet. Neoen's Narrogin Wind Farm and Bright Energy Investments' Warradarge Wind Farm Stage 2 are currently under construction, while Kondinin Energy's Kondinin Wind Farm is in development.

Parron Maam Marang Farm is also a WA Government Priority Project and is also backed by the Australian Government's Capacity Investment Scheme

The project was developed under a partnership between Parron Developments and Atmos Renewables and is now fully owned by Atmos Renewables.

Parron Maam Marang Farm is expected to be operational by late 2028.
