WA local governments share in CCTV camera funding
- 35 local governments have received a share of CCTV camera funding
- Funding to target neighbourhood crime and antisocial behaviour

Western Australian local governments will share in almost $1 million in funding to install or upgrade CCTV cameras to improve safety and security in public areas.
Local Government Minister Hannah Beazley said 35 local governments throughout the State have been successful in securing funding.
The CCTV Grant Program funding is part of a $22.5 million community safety election commitment to provide additional resourcing to tackle criminal activity.
As part of the process, local governments worked with the WA Police Force to identify suitable locations within a high-risk area that required increased camera coverage.
