Multiplex Perkins Unincorporated Joint Venture has been announced as the successful contractor to undertake main works of the Bunbury Regional Hospital redevelopment.

The project marks the largest redevelopment of a regional hospital in Western Australia's history, with the 2024-25 State Budget to deliver additional funding of $173 million for the significant project.

It will deliver additional medical and intensive care beds, an expanded emergency department, increased operating theatre capacity, new and expanded maternity, birthing and neonatal services, a dedicated new mental health observation area and expanded mental health inpatient facilities, as well as new clinical equipment including sterilisation and support facilities.

The works will also include regional WA's first teaching, training and research centre.

Early critical works, including a new carpark, were completed in 2022.
