American robotics giant Autonomous Solutions Mining, Inc. (ASI Mining) has selected Meridian Park at Neerabup as the site of its Australian office to facilitate its access to the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP), north of Perth.

The Utah-based company will bring its autonomous robotic systems to the Meridian Park industrial estate at Neerabup, to secure access to the AARP testing facilities.

ASI Mining will use the space to further develop and grow purpose-built advanced robotic automated systems. It will also operate key functions from Neerabup, including all global Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) oversight and deployment support, global technology support and AHS product management.

Work has also begun on a $7.3 million world-class Common User Facility operations building, which will include lab and warehouse spaces, training and meeting rooms, and co-working and collaboration areas. The facility will act as the AARP Headquarters and will run on emission-free solar power connected to a battery and microgrid network.

The 51ha AARP is Australia's largest research automation, robotics, remote operations and zero emissions technology precinct, operated by national innovation ecosystem and infrastructure builder CORE Innovation Hub.

Comments attributed to Lands Minister John Carey:

"The Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct has been designed for industry and innovators, offering a dedicated, state-of-the-art development, testing, training and demonstration space, providing more opportunities to diversify the WA economy.

"Industry interest in the AARP has seen strong demand at Meridian Park from businesses seeking a location with proximity to the innovation precinct and its facilities.

"The world-class facilities are a major drawcard for robotics and automation businesses across the globe who are looking to innovate and collaborate on emerging technologies."

Comments attributed to Innovation and the Digital Economy Minister Stephen Dawson:

"The AARP will welcome a major player in global robotics, as the precinct delivers on its vision for providing local, national and global companies a first-rate testing and development environment.

"The AARP is set to grow the innovation within the State, with local companies showcasing and testing cutting-edge solutions tailored to key WA industries.

"With companies like ASI Mining innovating at the AARP, WA has a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, grow and learn from some of the brightest minds in the field.

"The Cook Government is committed to growing both existing and emerging industries by supporting job growth, innovation and collaboration as the AARP delivers for our current and future technology leaders."
