$50,000 reward for information leading to conviction over missing Sara-Lee Davey

    Acting Attorney General Kevin Prince today announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the 1997 disappearance of a young woman, Sara-Lee Davey, in the State's far north.
    Ms Davey, 21, arrived in Broome on January 13, 1997 and arranged to stay with family friends for a week while her parents visited relatives in Karratha.
    Her mother, Irene Davey, returned to Broome on January 18, and endeavoured to find Sara-Lee without success. Later that day, the Broome police received details to list Sara-Lee Davey as a missing person.
    The police investigation into this incident has established the last confirmed sighting of Ms Davey was on the morning of Wednesday, January 15, 1997 in Carnarvon Street, Broome.
    Despite Australia-wide inquiries, Ms Davey has not been located and it is suspected that she has become a victim of a violent crime.
    "The co-operation and assistance of all members of the public is urgently sought in this matter," Mr Prince said.
    "The State Government is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information which will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Sara-Lee Davey.
    "Information may be given to Crime Stoppers, telephone 1800 333 000, the Officer in Charge of the Major Crime Investigation at Curtin House, 60 Beaufort Street Perth, Broome police on 91 921 212 or any police station."
