Wongan Hills, Moora and Goomalling district hospitals have been awarded full accreditation from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).

Health Minister Kevin Prince today congratulated the three hospitals for meeting the rigorous healthcare standards demanded by ACHS accreditation.

"ACHS accreditation is a process of nation-wide benchmarking which recognises a high standard of health care service delivery," Mr Prince said.

"Successful applicants must show that their service has in place an integrated, multi-disciplinary quality management system which monitors the structure, process and outcomes of care and services, and provides for continuous quality improvement.

"Meeting the ACHS standards requires hard work and dedication from all staff, as well as strong and competent leadership at the management level.

"These hospitals have shown that they provide an equally high standard of care as that provided in the metropolitan area."

Mr Prince said the hospitals were surveyed during August and September and joined the ranks of Dalwallinu District Hospital in being fully accredited.

The successful accreditation demonstrated the Western Health Service's commitment to providing quality health care services to its community.
