Applications open for 1996 CSRFF funding
22/7/95
The State Government is inviting applications for $8 million worth of grants, provided as part of the next round of the Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) program.
This follows $10 million in CSRFF funding which was allocated last month to 443 applicants across the State.
The opening of applications for the 1996 CSRFF funding was announced today by Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore.
"The grants are designed to ensure that Western Australia maintains the high quality of its sporting and recreation facilities and enhances their accessibility and affordability to the community," Mr Moore said.
"Those seeking CSRFF assistance range from local governments, indoor sport and recreation centres through to individual clubs. The criteria used to grant the funding include economic viability, community need and consultation.
"The CSRFF assistance provides individual projects with funding for one-third of capital works programs.
"This funding is part of an ongoing Government commitment to encourage better-planned and better-managed facilities for the future and is an important part of the Coalition's sport and recreation policy which aims to increase the overall level of funding and usage of such facilities."
Mr Moore said the CSRFF system was a tremendous way for the State Government to help communities develop.
Applications for grants can be made immediately through local government authorities or the Ministry of Sport and Recreation's country offices.
Applications close on October 6 and grants are scheduled to be announced in February of next year.
