Premier Richard Court today announced that Albany MLA Kevin Prince would fill the Cabinet position vacated last year by Mr Doug Shave.

The Premier said Mr Prince would take Ministerial responsibility for Aboriginal Affairs and Housing.

"In particular, Mr Prince's legal training will prove invaluable to the State Government as we deal with the legal ramifications of the Mabo High Court decisions," Mr Court said.

The Premier also announced that he would take responsibility for the Tourism portfolio as part of the Government's major drive for new investment this year.

"To ensure that my existing portfolio responsibilities are given proper attention, Mines Minister George Cash will become the Minister assisting the Premier with public sector management," Mr Court said.

The Premier said other profolio areas would remain unaltered.
