Assistant Director General, Deidre Willmott replaces Ian Fletcher as chief of staff

Premier Richard Court said today that Assistant Director General, Legal of the Ministry of the Premier and Cabinet, Deidre Willmott, would replace Ian Fletcher as Chief of Staff in his office.
Mr Court said Mr Fletcher was leaving to take up a business opportunity and his departure from Government represented a significant loss to the public sector in Western Australia.
"Since taking up his position in my office in 1993, Mr Fletcher has played an integral role in the workings of Government and the administration of the State. There have been many occasions that the State has benefitted from Mr Fletcher's knowledge and expertise," the Premier said.
"I wish Mr Fletcher every success in his new venture and thank him for his unwavering dedication and commitment to his work and to serving the Western Australian community over the past six years."
Mr Court said Ms Willmott's legal qualifications and experience in Government made her an excellent choice for the position of Chief of Staff.
