Casuarina prison shop to make Fremantle Dockers' banners

Fremantle Dockers fans will soon be able to wave giant banners made by prisoners at Casuarina jail.
The AFL's newest team has asked for 100 banners in six different designs to be made in Casuarina's garment shop.
Assisting Justice Minister Kevin Minson said today the Dockers' contract had created great interest at Casuarina Prison.
"Not only will prisoners be making something different from their usual product, there is the added impetus of working for a high profile organisation such as the Dockers," Mr Minson said.
"The Fremantle Dockers have done remarkable well in their first AFL season and prisoners involved with making the banners will be able to see their work on the TV screens each week during the telecast of AFL games."
Up to 10 prisoners from the Casuarina garment shop are involved in making the two-metre by one-metre polyvicose flags which will be attached to wooden poles.
"The final effect will be a forest of the big banners being waved to encourage players and celebrate goals," he said.
