Composition of College Governing Council for SW Regional TAFE

Employment and Training Minister Cheryl Edwardes today announced the composition of the College Governing Council for the South West Regional College of TAFE.
Mrs Edwardes said that the council members had been chosen for their community and industry involvement and knowledge. The council would govern the strategic direction of the college, while delegating day-to-day management to the managing director.
Council members are:
· Mr Dan Perkins (chair) - part owner of Perkins Constructions, member of the Master Builders' Association;
· Ms Roseanne Pimm (deputy chair) - president of Collie Shire Council and community leader;
· Mr Ross Marshall - chief executive of the South West Development Commission, and a chemical engineer by training;
· Mr Conor Lagan - chief winemaker at Chateau Xanadu and president of the South West Winegrowers' Association. Active interest in developments at Margaret River Campus;
· Denise Jenkins - president of Manjimup Chamber of Commerce and small business owner. Active interest in Manjimup Campus;
· Mr Ron Maclean - chair, South West Institute of Engineers and a private consulting engineer;
· Mr Dominic Figliomeni - general manager, Bunbury Port Authority; member of the Transport and Storage Industry Training Council; chair of the Maritime Division of Transport and Storage Industry Training Council. Participates on education committees at Edith Cowan University Bunbury Campus;
· Ms Jan Spriggs - proprietor of Personnel Recruitment Business, Bunbury. Vice president of Zonta International Bunbury, a community involvement group;
· Ms Melissa Hyder - current participation in Marketing and Strategic Planning within the Bunbury Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and -
· Ms Jan Pedersen - marketing manager, promoting tourism in the South-West region. Previously involved with TAFE as a college council member and as an employee.
The managing director of South West Regional College of TAFE, Mr Robert Smillie, is also a member of the College Council.
