Design briefing contract awarded for new Rockingham Courthouse

A briefing contract has been awarded to an architectural firm for the new Rockingham Courthouse, Attorney General Cheryl Edwardes said today.

The firm will prepare a design brief outlining the physical requirements of the courthouse as well as preliminary design for the building's facade.

"A suitable site is still being negotiated, and I shall announce the location very soon," Mrs Edwardes said.

She said the Ministry of Justice had given high priority to the new Rockingham Court, which would provide a much needed facility for the Rockingham community.

The architects will report back to the project committee with their plans by November.
