Dr Jim Gill appointed managing director of WAWA

Water Resources Minister Peter Foss today announced the appointment of Dr Jim Gill as managing director of the Water Authority of Western Australia.

Dr Gill was previously Commissioner for Railways and is currently acting director general in the Ministry of Premier and Cabinet.

Mr Foss said Dr Gill would take up his new position on March 13.

The position was previously held by Dr Wally Cox, who will be assisting the Minister with the priority task of drawing the agencies in his portfolios together before taking up another chief executive position in the public sector.

Mr Foss said the project involved establishing the framework for coordination of overlapping areas of responsibility within the Environment and Water portfolios.

WAWA acting general manager (customer services) Colin Temby will act as managing director until March 12.
