East Perth concrete batching plant development application refused
20/9/96
Planning Minister Richard Lewis has refused a development application for a concrete batching plant in East Perth.
Mr Lewis said the decision followed a recommendation by the East Perth Redevelopment Authority Board to reject the proposal by Boral Concrete to establish a batching plant at Lot 100, Summers Street.
"This site is not a suitable location for a number of planning reasons andI was also mindful of the concerns expressed about the proposal by the local community," he said.
Mr Lewis said the State Government was committed to the rejuvenation of East Perth as a unique and dynamic urban community on the doorstep of the City.
"The successful redevelopment of this area will rely on careful and thorough planning which takes into account community feeling," he said.
