Geraldton-based firm to handle Government media requirements

Geraldton-based firm Brian Abbott Media Services has been appointed to assist in handling the Coalition Government's media requirements in the Mid-West Region.

The company was awarded the contract ahead of eight other applicants.  It was approved by the Tenders Committee last week.

"Brian Abbott has a wealth of local knowledge and experience in the Geraldton region and will play an important role in keeping the Mid-West community informed on what the Government is doing in their area," Premier Richard Court said today.

"By being better informed, local residents will be able to have a constructive say in what is going on in their community."

The Premier said that the Government had made considerable savings when it closed the Geraldton office of the Ministry of the Mid-West.

"By using the private sector to provide our media services in the region the Government will end up with a better service for far less cost," Mr Court said.
