Grant for north-west branch of Shukokai Karate Assn

Gascoyne exponents of the martial art of Shukokai Karate will have the chance to go further in their sport, thanks to a State Government grant.

Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore announced the $530 grant from the Sports Lottery Fund country package today.

Mr Moore said that the grant would help the North-West branch of the Australian Shukokai Karate Association grade students and hold specialised instructor training.

"The State Government is conscious of the impact sport has in regional Western Australia and that is why development plans are so important both for sports and the community," he said.

"I am delighted that this grant will go towards improving skills and knowledge at a local level."
