Maurice Owen reappointed chairman of Heritage Council for 3 years

Maurice Owen, chairman of the Heritage Council of Western Australia, has been reappointed for another three years, Heritage Minister Graham Kierath announced.

Mr Owen, who has been chairman of the Heritage Council since June 1994, will retain the chairmanship until March 2001.

A property consultant and former managing director of Jones Lang Wootton, Mr Owen has been a member of the Heritage Council since its inception in 1991.

A member of the National Trust, Mr Owen is also chairman of the Cultural Centre Development Committee and the Ellenbrook Joint Venture.

He is past president of the Western Australian Division of the Building Owners and Managers' Association, now known as the Property Council of Australia, and former state councillor of REIWA and the Australian Institute of Valuers and Land Economists.
