Racing and Gaming Minister Max Evans has announced the appointment of chartered accountant Michael Golding to the Committee of the Western Australian Greyhound Racing Association.

Mr Golding, of Bullcreek, has been appointed for a term expiring on June 1, 1997.   He replaces accounting and financial consultant Douglas West, who did not seek reappointment on the expiry of his term on June 1 this year.

Mr Evans said Mr Golding was appointed after the Committee chairman indicated a preference for Mr West's replacement to have a strong accounting and computer background.

Mr Golding is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and an Associate of the Australian Computer Society.

From 1954 to 1987 he was with chartered accountants Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and in 1980 became partner in charge of management consulting services, involved in computer consulting, business advisory, strategic planning and executive recruitment services.

Since 1987 he has been practising under his own name, providing advice on accounting, taxation and business, management reporting, and analysis and interpretation of financial statements.

Mr Golding is presently a member of the Australian Society of CPA's information technology cell in Western Australia, and is a NIES accredited management consultant for both business planning and advanced manufacturing technology evaluation.

He is also a member of the board of management of All Saints' College Inc, Bullcreek.
