Michael O'Sullivan appointed new District Court judge
17/5/94
Western Australia has a new District Court judge.
Attorney General Cheryl Edwardes said Executive Council had approved the appointment of Mr Michael O'Sullivan to the Western Australian bench.
"Mr O'Sullivan is well respected and has wide experience in the law," Mrs Edwardes said.
Mr O'Sullivan, 46, is a Western Australian who was admitted to legal practices in 1972. He practised with the firm Corser and Corser until 1982.
After joining the Independent Bar in 1982, Mr O'Sullivan continued to practice in commercial and common law - and was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1992.
Mrs Edwardes said Mr O'Sullivan had been selected and appointed following extensive consultation with the Judiciary, the Law Society and the Bar Association.
His appointment to the bench will be effective from June 1.
