Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore today announced a grant of $4,379 to the Midlands Zone of the Pony Club Association of WA.
The money is from the Sports Lottery Country Package, which is administered by the Ministry of Sport and Recreation.
The Midlands zone consists of five clubs with up to 200 members.
Mr Moore said that the funding would be used for coach trainer courses, rider development opportunities and training materials, supporting travel to regional competitions and improving administration skills.
"These programs will help the overall standard of riding for members and encourage wider participation in the sport," he said.
"This is what this sort of funding is all about - helping country people to maximise their sport and recreation opportunities."
