Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore has told young Western Australian gymnasts not to be afraid to aim high.
Mr Moore was speaking at the WAIS Fliers dinner at Challenge Stadium on Saturday night.
He told the girls their dream was just beginning as they looked ahead to the challenge of the Sydney Olympics.
"Enjoy your sport and don't be afraid to aim high," he said.
The WAIS Fliers were launched about 12 months ago to make public appearances and give displays to help create a greater awareness of the sport of gymnastics and all it has to offer.
"Just as importantly, the WAIS Fliers project shows the high degree of self-help among the gymnastics community in Western Australia," Mr Moore said.
"It is without doubt the best-organised and most successful fund-raising group associated with any of the Olympic sports."
The Minister said it brought great credit to the parents, friends and supporters who contributed in so many way to the WAIS Fliers Supporters' Group.
"Your contribution is crucial to the on-going success and viability of the program," he said.
