The Western Australian Police Service is seen as the second most ethical and honest police service in the country according to a report released today.

Police Minister John Day welcomed the Morgan Poll which showed that 70 per cent of respondents believed that WA police officers were very honest and ethical.

"This represents a 17 per cent increase from last year and places WA well over the national average of 60 per cent and only three per cent behind South Australia, the highest rating State," he said.

Mr Day congratulated all members of the State's Police Service for the positive work they performed in the community.

The Minister also noted the latest survey came after the recent Council of Australian Government's Reports where the WA Police Service received a rating of 84 per cent for customer satisfaction being well above the national average.

"This result is proof positive that the Delta reforms introduced by the WA Police Service over the last four years are working."
