New Health Commissioner sought following resignation of Dr Peter Brennan

The State Government will advertise Australia-wide and an executive search company will be engaged to look nationally and internationally for a new Commissioner of Health following the resignation of Dr Peter Brennan.

Health Minister Graham Kierath said he was hopeful a replacement could be found quickly.

"Dr Brennan and I have discussed changes in the bureaucracy in order to accelerate the rate of reform in the health industry," Mr Kierath said.

"After some consideration, he has decided to vacate the position in May."
