The State's southern agricultural region will soon be showcased following Primary Industry Minister Monty House's announcement of a $5,500 Bushnet grant to Newdegate Machinery Field Days to establish a website.
Mr House said the website would benefit the southern agricultural districts of Western Australia by providing local farmers with easily accessible information about agriculture and the latest machinery while also promoting the region to a wider audience than ever before.
"Bushnet will help promote Newdegate Machinery Field Days to a larger audience in WA and nationally, and this increased awareness is expected to entice a greater number of new exhibitors," he said.
"The additional income generated at the field days will in turn lead to more available funding for community groups in the region through the financial success of the field days."
Mr House said the website would also benefit exhibitors at the Newdegate Machinery Field Days by promoting their products.
"The web site will help streamline Newdegate Machinery Field Days activities, enabling prospective exhibitors to view the Committee's prospectus as well as lodge application forms electronically," he said.
The Minister said the Progress Rural Western Australia initiative aimed to provide support and recognition for rural communities throughout the State.
"Through Bushnet and the new web site, Newdegate Machinery Field Days will be able to raise awareness of their annual event throughout Australia and benefit the State's southern region," he said.
