North West Cape Coral Coast guide released
13/5/99
A new eight-page guide to the natural attractions of the Coral Coast along the western side of North West Cape has been released.
Environment Minister Cheryl Edwardes said the guide, prepared by the Department of Conservation and Land Management, would assist the Exmouth tourism industry that had been hit hard in the wake of Cyclone Vance and now with flooding.
The guide covers features such as Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo Marine Park which is the longest fringing coral reef in the world and renowned for human interactions with whale sharks.
Readers can learn about the fascinating subterranean fauna that live in deep caves along the Cape as well as the array of sea-life including dolphins, dugong, seals, turtles and whales.
The guide also provides information on campsites and day use facilities and a map pin-points the various facilities in Cape Range National Park.
Mrs Edwardes said the guide cost $1 and was available from CALM's Exmouth office, CALM offices in Como and
CALM's WA Naturally information centre in Henry Street, Fremantle, as well as local tourist bureau.
