Number plates reflecting 'Brand WA' design available in New Year

Bright blue sky and warm yellow sunshine will transform Western Australia's vehicle number plates in the new year.

Transport Minister Eric Charlton announced today that WA's number plates would change to reflect the new 'Brand WA' design.

"For the first time we will have a number plate which will be distinctively Western Australian," Mr Charlton said.

"There is nothing more Western Australian than a blue sky and warm sunshine and these new plates will be instantly recognisable."

The number plates will include a blue strip across the top of the plate, with a sun emblem in the centre. The numbers below will be blue on a clear white background.

Mr Charlton said that all Western Australians could be proud of the new plates.

"It is an exciting combination which sets us apart from other states and is a significant improvement on our current plates," he said.
