A $3.5 million capital investment has been realised today with the official opening of Combined Rural Traders/Town and Country's new headquarters in Welshpool by Primary Industry Minister Monty House.

Mr House commended CRT/Town and Country on their commitment to the agricultural sector in the upgrading of their head office and warehouse.

"The headquarters will improve facilities for the co-operative's independent network of members," he said.

"It offers an increased warehouse capacity, two separate dangerous goods areas and a covered drive through system for truck loading.

"It is an impressive world-class facility, which is three times the size of the former premises in Kewdale."

Mr House said CRT/Town and Country had an important role to play in the advancement of the State's farming sector and he congratulated them on their service provision to the wealth producers of Western Australia.
