Queen's Birthday holiday to be held Monday, October 3

Labour Relations Minister Graham Kierath has confirmed that this year's Queen's Birthday holiday will be held on Monday, October 3.

The Minister said there was some confusion because a number of diaries and calendars had printed the holiday as falling in September.

They were printed before the Education Department altered its third term schedule.

"The Queen's Birthday traditionally coincides with the school holidays and the Royal Show," Mr Kierath said.

"The public was notified of the change when it was made last year but unfortunately it was too late for some publishers.

"To prevent confusion in future years, we are talking to the Education Department about earlier finalisation of this particular holiday."
