Resignation of East Perth Redevelopment Authority chairman Mr Peter Solomon
30/10/96
Planning Minister Richard Lewis said today he had accepted with regret the resignation of the chairman of the East Perth Redevelopment Authority Mr Peter Solomon.
Mr Solomon decided to step down for personal reasons not related to his position as chairman.
Mr Lewis said it was unfortunate, as he had made a significant contribution to the success of the redevelopment of East Perth.
"In nearly three years as chairman of the authority, Mr Solomon has spearheaded the transformation of East Perth into an exciting inner-city community," he said.
"The award winning work undertaken at East Perth is recognised across Australia as a model for inner-city redevelopment and Mr Solomon can take credit for the work that has been done."
As deputy chairman of the authority, Allan Skinner, CEO of Department of Land Administration, will be appointed acting chairman.
