Resignation of Ken Perry, Director General of the Dept of Minerals & Energy

Mines Minister Norman Moore announced today that he reluctantly accepted the resignation of Ken Perry, Director General of the Department of Minerals and Energy, effective from April 11, 1997.

"Mr Perry has resigned to take up a senior position in an emerging mining finance organisation," Mr Moore said.

"The Government thanks him for his contributions over the last two years and wishes him well in the future."

Mr Moore said that the Government would start looking immediately for a replacement for this important role.
