Site of Birralee Primary School, Innaloo, to be sold

The site of the Birralee Primary School, in Innaloo, is to be sold by the Education Department.

Education Minister Colin Barnett gave his approval for the sale of the site this week.

The 2.6ha site will be auctioned on January 11.

Birralee Primary School amalgamated with North Innaloo Primary School at the start of this year to form Yuluma Primary School.

The combined schools have operated from the Birralee site this year while a new school has been under construction on the North Innaloo site.

The new school is nearing completion and will open at the start of the 1997 school year.

The Minister said that there had already been interest in the site from the non-Government education sector.
