Access to Government statutory information publications will be greatly improved following the State Law Publisher's move to inner city premises, Services Minister Kevin Minson said today.

Mr Minson officially opened the State Law Publisher's shopfront and printing area at 10 William Street today.

The State Law Publisher was previously located at the former State Print site in Wembley, now part of the Subiaco 2000 redevelopment project.

Mr Minson said the unit was the Government's official publisher of statutory information including the Government Gazette and Parliamentary Bills, Acts and Regulations.

"The State Law Publisher was retained as a core function of Government when State Print's commercial business was sold," Mr Minson said.

"It provides a vital service not only to the Parliament but also to the legal profession, business sector and the wider community."

The Minister said the relocation to the central business district provided the opportunity to re-equip the State Law Publisher and introduce improved work practices.

"It will also give customers much easier access than was the case in the old Wembley premises."

Publications are available for purchase between 8 am and 5 pm each week day.
