State-of-the-art medical centre opened in Joondalup

A new state-of-the-art medical centre and multi-disciplined health facility has opened for business in Joondalup as part of the billion dollar investments in the city and in response to strong population growth.
Lands Minister George Cash today opened Sanori House in Joondalup's central business district - the city's first privately-developed building to be occupied by private sector tenants.
Mr Cash said it was evidence of the rapid commercial and residential growth in Joondalup and surrounding suburbs.
"Public and private investment in Joondalup is expected to reach more than $1.5 billion by 1995, and it is this level of investor confidence in Perth's second city that has created a boom in residential land sales in Joondalup and its surrounds," he said.
"Growth in Perth's north-west metropolitan corridor is growing at the rate of more than four per cent annually.
"It is one of the fastest-growing residential areas in Australia - second only to Albert in Queensland."
Mr Cash said that at the same time, demand for commercial land in Joondalup's CBD had exceeded expectation and supply.
The first 27 commercial lots made available were snapped up within six months of release and a further 24 lots would go on to the market early in the New Year.
The Minister said the development of Sanori House in Joondalup's central business district, at a cost of $5 million, reflected the confidence in the level of investment in Joondalup and the city's bright future.
"Sanori House represents one of the biggest assemblies of medical, para-medical and sports facilities in Australia," he said.
"The complex is expected to develop into the largest of its kind in the State and the medical centre will help ease pressure on the nearby Wanneroo Hospital."
Sanori House - winner of the 1993 Building Designers' Association of WA award for excellence - has nine tenants offering a range of services.
These include a fully-equipped accident and emergency department and a medical practice supported by the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment equipment available.
One tenant, LifeCare, offered advanced physiotherapy and sports injury services and another, LifeSport, provided fitness testing facilities and a gymnasium.
Sanori House also accommodates a radiology centre, a dental clinic and a pharmacy.
