Support for Mandurah Football Club in the WAFL

Support for the Mandurah Football Club in the WAFL has come from Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore.

Mr Moore said he welcomed the decision to admit the new club and had approved a $20,000 grant to assist with the establishment of club infrastructure.

"Football has shown an ability to change and retain public support," Mr Moore said.

"In this instance, the establishment of the Mandurah Football Club at the southern end of the metropolitan area, complements the successful move of West Perth to Joondalup to service major population growth areas."

Mr Moore said he expected other sports would soon include Mandurah in their metropolitan competitions.
