Support package of $3,300 for tennis in the Albany region
26/8/99
Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore today announced a support package for tennis in the Albany region.
The $3,300 grant, from the Sports Lottery Fund country package, will help fund Zone 7 Tennis Committee's development plan into 2000.
The plan will focus on junior development through camps, development squad training and inter-regional competition.
"Regular physical activity is a great contributor to good health and sport has a special place in the social fabric of regional Western Australia," Mr Moore said.
"Support from the Sports Lottery Fund country package goes to the grass roots of sport and helps establish successful sport and recreation infrastructure, not just for the immediate future, but in the long term.
"I am delighted the State Government has been able to help in this way."
